My journey into the auto repair industry started early, inspired by my grandfather, who was a Chrysler mechanic. Growing up, I was always by my dad’s side, helping with family car repairs — and yes, I definitely learned how to hold the flashlight the right way. That hands-on experience sparked a curiosity about how automotive parts wear down and the importance of maintenance and prevention. It felt like a natural path to turn that interest into a career. These days, I really enjoy working on diesel pickup trucks. There’s just something incredibly satisfying about tuning those powerful machines to run at peak performance.
I also have a strong appreciation for preventive maintenance on gas engines — it’s the kind of work that keeps people safely on the road and prevents bigger issues down the line. One project that really stands out to me was installing a lift kit and custom wheels on a customer’s truck. It’s the kind of repair that brings real excitement — seeing their face light up when they pick it up makes the hard work worth it. Of course, I stay up to date with the latest automotive technology by taking classes, reading industry materials, and participating in ongoing training programs. With new systems and tools constantly emerging, continuing education is key.
Outside of the shop, most people are surprised to learn that I live with a small zoo — three Goldendoodles, a Sheepadoodle, and three cats, including one hairless feline. It’s always lively at home, that’s for sure. What I love most about working here is that no two days are the same. There’s always a new challenge, and solving tough problems that others couldn’t figure out is incredibly rewarding. When I’m not working, I spend time at my ranch managing wildlife with my family — it’s a peaceful way to recharge and connect with nature. On weekends, I like to catch an Astros game or explore the amazing food scene in Houston when I make my way into the city. If I had the chance to take a road trip, I’d hop in our Range Rover and head to the mountains of Colorado — or maybe New Mexico. The open roads and scenery make for an unforgettable drive.

I was inspired to get into the auto repair industry because I enjoy working on vehicles and learning new things. My favorite cars to work on are my personal and family vehicles since it feels great to help those closest to me. One thing customers might be surprised to learn about me is that I’m an honest guy, which I believe is important in this line of work. To stay current with the latest automotive technology, I regularly watch videos on YouTube. What I enjoy most about working at this shop is simply the chance to work on vehicles every day. When I’m not fixing cars, I love spending quality time with my family, and on weekends, we often go out around Houston to have fun together. If I had the chance to take a road trip, I’d drive my own vehicle to San Antonio, TX. Outside of work, I’m passionate about helping people whenever I can. When it comes to entertainment, I usually recommend action movies. A fun fact that most people don’t know about me is that I played soccer. If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be my boss, Gus Poutous, because I admire him.

From a young age, I was always the curious type — taking apart toys, bicycles, or anything I could get my hands on, even though they rarely worked again. That curiosity evolved into passion when I took a small engine repair class in 10th grade at Klein High School. The moment I walked into the shop and saw all the cool go-karts, I was hooked. It wasn’t just the machines — it was the thrill of discovering why and how things worked, combined with a growing love for speed. Over the years, that passion has focused heavily on Gen 3 and 4 Chevy pickups from 1999 to 2013—easy to work on, fun to modify, and always a good time.
One of my proudest builds was my ’94 Ford Bronco outfitted with a 2004 Chevy V8 and Ford one-ton axles, a true Frankenstein project that pushed my skills. I’ve also completed a lot of automotive advancement and specialist courses and stay plugged into large networks of mechanics to stay ahead of real-world problems and trends. The shop feels like a second home to me — it’s like family, and let’s be honest, the paycheck doesn’t hurt either. Outside of the shop, I enjoy golfing, paintball, and sipping whiskey in the pool. Golf has taken the lead lately — my goal is to bring my score down from triple digits to something a bit more respectable.
I recently took a trip out to West Texas in my Chevy pickup to visit my parents, and someday I’d love to retrace my grandfather’s steps from Normandy all the way to Munich, Germany. I miss my dad a lot — he's a historical figure in my life and continues to inspire me. As for entertainment, I’m a big fan of Saving Private Ryan and Independence Day, and I never miss a rerun of Game of Thrones. On the bookshelf, you'll find Dante’s Inferno and There Are No Electrons by Kenn Amdahl. And hey, fun fact — I used to have a 33" waist. These days? Not so much. But I can still burp my ABCs, so I’ve clearly held onto the important things.

What first inspired me to get into the auto repair industry was a 2001 Ford Mustang GT that came through with a ton of diagnostic issues. It challenged me in all the right ways and sparked a deeper interest in understanding how vehicles work. Since then, I’ve found that I really enjoy working on most Chevy Silverados — they’re simple, reliable, and perfect for DIY-style repairs, which makes the work both efficient and satisfying.
One project I’m especially proud of was a head gasket repair on the shop’s Dodge Journey. It was a tough job, but seeing it through to the end was incredibly rewarding. Outside the garage, people might be surprised to learn that I read way too many webcomics — it’s my go-to way to relax. What I enjoy most about working at this shop is the smaller business atmosphere; it creates a more genuine, personal connection between us and our customers, which makes the work feel even more meaningful.
